Today, a joint meeting was held via Zoom between Al-Riyada University, represented by the General Administration of International Relations and the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (Department of Dentistry), and the Egyptian Society of Prosthodontics, to discuss frameworks for academic and professional cooperation in preparation for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Adel Abdel Khalek, Director of International Relations at Al-Riyada University; Dr. Fatima Abadel, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences; Dr. Rami Anis, Head of the Department of Dentistry; and members of the internship teaching staff. Representing the Egyptian Society of Prosthodontics were Prof. Dr. Mostafa Kamel, the Society’s Media Officer; Prof. Dr. Ehab El-Shahawy, Head of the Fixed Prosthodontics Department; along with representatives of the Society’s Board of Directors.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Adel Abdel Khalek welcomed the attendees and conveyed the greetings of the University President, Prof. Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki.

The participants discussed the possibility of establishing an academic partnership, reflecting Al-Riyada University’s commitment to continuous academic and professional development and aligning with the Egyptian Society’s objective of disseminating scientific knowledge and promoting sound professional practice throughout the Arab world, while providing educational institutions with distinguished scientific expertise and benefits.

The discussions focused on several areas, most notably the implementation of continuing professional development programs for faculty members, students, and dentists; organizing joint conferences, seminars, and workshops; as well as supporting scientific research and academic publication.

The meeting also resulted in an agreement to provide special facilities for university affiliates to participate in upcoming conferences and their accompanying scientific workshops. In addition, the two parties agreed to organize joint scientific evenings in the capital, Aden, and to make mutually beneficial use of the available logistical resources.

The meeting also addressed opportunities for academic and scientific exchange visits, as well as utilizing the Society’s extensive expertise and experienced professionals to support the development of medical education and training. The parties further discussed continuing remote academic cooperation and implementing joint training programs and professional certifications in the field of prosthodontics.

This meeting reflects Al-Riyada University’s commitment to establishing distinguished academic partnerships and strategic collaborations with regional and international scientific and professional institutions, with the aim of advancing medical education outcomes and enhancing the capabilities of healthcare professionals.
