As part of the university’s ongoing commitment to quality and the development of academic performance, the Center for Quality Assurance and Academic Development at Al-Riyada University organized a scientific seminar entitled “Quality and Academic Advising,” through which the activities of Quality Week 2025 were officially launched under the slogan:
“Towards Distinguished Quality and Comprehensive Academic Leadership.”
The seminar opened with a welcoming and guiding speech delivered by Dr. Salem Aboud Ghanem, Vice President of the University, on his own behalf and on behalf of the University President, Prof. Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki. In his address, he welcomed the new students across the university’s colleges: the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Medical Laboratories), the College of Engineering and Information Technology, and the College of Administrative Sciences with its departments (Accounting and Business Administration).
He emphasized that quality and quality assurance are a shared responsibility borne by all members of the university community, including leadership, administration, faculty members, and students. He also highlighted the importance of spreading the culture of quality and academic advising throughout the student’s university journey, starting from enrollment.
Following this, Dr. Nour Al-Din Al-Aidaroos delivered a scientific lecture addressing the concepts of quality and academic accreditation, as well as the foundations of academic advising for new students, clarifying their role in achieving institutional excellence.
In addition, Ms. Wiam Saif Ali, the University Registrar General, delivered a speech in which she reviewed the most important university regulations and the Student Handbook, ensuring that students are aware of their rights and duties throughout their academic journey.
The seminar also featured contributions and remarks from college deans, who shared their perspectives on the importance of quality, adherence to its standards, and the role of academic advising in helping students adapt and succeed in their new educational environment.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the floor was opened for students to engage in discussion and raise their questions, inquiries, and observations.
It is worth noting that the launch of Quality Week 2025 at Al-Riyada University reaffirms the university’s commitment to promoting a culture of comprehensive quality and consolidating the values of academic excellence and continuous development across all its colleges and programs.
