Al-Reyada University Hosts 2nd Charity Dish Event in Support of the Elderly Care Home
In a noble humanitarian gesture reflecting the spirit of solidarity and compassion, Al-Reyada University held its 2nd Charity Dish event this Wednesday at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. The event was dedicated to supporting the Elderly Care Home, honoring those who spent their lives serving society.
The initiative was held under the gracious patronage of Prof. Dr. Nahla Al-Kaaki, President of the University, and in the presence of Dr. Salem Ghanem, Vice President, along with college deans. Organized by the Student Activities Unit and the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and IT, the event saw a large turnout and wide community interaction from both the university and the local public.
Core Values and Community Impact
This initiative aims to instill values of mercy, righteousness, and social solidarity in students. It embodies the teachings of Islam and the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in caring for the elderly, who are a crown upon our heads and a blessing in our lives.
The event serves as a practical application of community service, developing a sense of humanitarian responsibility and initiative among students. This reflects the quality of the university’s outcomes and its commitment to preparing a conscious and proactive generation.
A Legacy of Giving
It is worth noting that the Faculty of Administrative Sciences at the university organized a similar event last Thursday, November 6, 2025, in support of kidney dialysis patients, further cementing the university’s role in charitable work.
Acknowledgements
In conclusion, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event, led by the University President, Prof. Dr. Nahla Al-Kaaki, for her tireless support of humanitarian initiatives.
Special thanks also go to:
-
The Student Activities Unit, represented by Dr. Bara’a Sanad Haidar.
-
The Faculty of Engineering and IT, represented by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdo Ali.
-
All faculty members and students who participated, proving that the university is not only a beacon of knowledge but also a beacon of humanity and social service.
