Al-Riyada University Continues Preparations for the Academic Programs Review and Development Workshop
As part of Al-Riyada University's ongoing commitment to enhancing its academic programs and improving the quality of its educational outcomes in line with national and regional requirements, an expanded meeting was held on the morning of Wednesday, July 15, 2026, chaired by the University President. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the final preparations for the Academic Programs Review and Development Workshop.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the University, deans of the colleges, heads of academic departments, the Director of the Center for Quality Assurance and Academic Development, and several academic leaders. Participants reviewed the overall framework of the workshop and discussed the academic and methodological foundations that will guide the review and development of the university's academic programs.
The University President emphasized that the review and development process will be based on several key references, foremost among them the standards of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council and the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach. The process will also benefit from local, regional, and international academic references to ensure that the university's academic programs remain aligned with labor market needs, sustainable development goals, and the competitiveness of its graduates.
Regarding the organization of the workshop, the University President confirmed that it will bring together a distinguished group of quality assurance experts and specialists, alongside the university's deans and heads of academic departments, each contributing according to their field of expertise to achieve the workshop's objectives.
The meeting also featured several academic discussions and contributions highlighting the importance of aligning the workshop with international best practices in academic program design and development based on the Outcome-Based Education methodology, while emphasizing the need to rely on recognized national and international reference standards relevant to each academic discipline.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President expressed sincere appreciation to the deans of the colleges, heads of academic departments, the Director of the Center for Quality Assurance and Academic Development, and all academic committees for their efforts in preparing for the workshop. She affirmed that this workshop represents a strategic step toward advancing the university's academic programs, enhancing the quality of higher education, and reinforcing a culture of quality and continuous improvement. These efforts support the university's mission and future vision while strengthening its readiness to obtain academic accreditation in accordance with national frameworks and approved quality standards.
