Al-Ryada University Receives a Delegation from the Academic Accreditation Council and Higher Education Quality Assurance Council

Al-Ryada University welcomed today, Sunday, June 14, 2026, a delegation from the Academic Accreditation Council and Higher Education Quality Assurance Council, comprising Professor Dr. Al-Ezzi Ali Al-Barai, Member of the Academic Accreditation and Higher Education Quality Assurance Council, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Balhareth, Director General of Measurement and Evaluation at the Council. The visit was conducted as part of a field follow-up to assess the implementation of periodic evaluation recommendations related to several academic programs at the University, within the framework of the Council’s efforts to enhance educational quality and improve the outcomes of higher education institutions.

During the visit, an extensive meeting was held under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Nahla Al-Kaaki, President of the University, with the attendance of college deans, heads of the relevant academic departments, and the Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Development Center. The University presented the measures and development plans that had been implemented in response to the Council’s previous recommendations, as well as the efforts undertaken to enhance academic and administrative performance.

The delegation also reviewed a number of documents, records, and evidence related to the programs of Medicine, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Business Administration, and Information Technology. Discussions were held with the concerned parties regarding the progress achieved in implementing the recommendations and continuous improvement plans.

The University leadership reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a culture of quality and academic accreditation and to developing its academic programs in accordance with national standards and labor market requirements, thereby enhancing the University’s standing and achieving institutional and academic excellence.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between Al-Ryada University and the Academic Accreditation and Higher Education Quality Assurance Council to support the development of the educational process, improve learning outcomes, serve the community, and strengthen the competitiveness of higher education in Yemen.

In her statement, Professor Dr. Nahla Al-Kaaki, President of the University, expressed her sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Academic Accreditation and Higher Education Quality Assurance Council, represented by its Chairperson, Professor Dr. Sawsan Mohammed Bakhabirah, for the Council’s continuous efforts in supporting higher education institutions, enhancing the quality of academic programs, and promoting a culture of academic accreditation and quality assurance across Yemeni universities. She also extended her appreciation to the visiting delegation for its professional role and for the constructive observations and valuable guidance provided, which contribute significantly to advancing the University’s institutional and academic development journey.

For his part, Dr. Salem Ghanem, Vice President of the University, emphasized that the visit represented an important opportunity to assess the level of progress achieved in implementing improvement and development plans and to benefit from the expertise of the Academic Accreditation Council in strengthening academic and administrative quality. He added that Al-Ryada University regards quality assurance and academic accreditation as a strategic choice and a sustainable pathway toward institutional excellence, noting that the University will continue working collaboratively to achieve the highest quality standards across all its academic programs.

Similarly, Dr. Samah Mohammed Al-Mansouri, Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Development Center at Al-Ryada University, stated that the visit constituted an important milestone in evaluating the progress made in implementing improvement and development plans for the academic programs under review. She noted that the University had worked extensively during the past period to fulfill numerous quality requirements and document supporting evidence in accordance with approved standards. She added that the Center would continue coordinating with colleges and academic departments to strengthen continuous improvement and further institutionalize a culture of quality and academic accreditation throughout the University, thereby contributing to the achievement of its goals and aspirations for academic and institutional excellence.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation of the Academic Accreditation and Higher Education Quality Assurance Council commended the high level of cooperation and responsiveness demonstrated by Al-Ryada University. The delegation also praised the genuine commitment shown by the University’s leadership and its academic and administrative staff in implementing the recommendations of the periodic evaluation, providing the required documentation and evidence, and embracing a culture of continuous development, improvement, quality assurance, and academic accreditation.
