Al-Riyada University Board of Trustees Signs Land Purchase Agreement for the University
As part of implementing the strategic plan’s programs and projects, the Board of Trustees of Al-Riyada University signed yesterday, Monday, a contract to purchase a plot of land for the university with a total area of 63,000 square meters. The land was acquired from Aden International Company for Trade, Industry, Real Estate Development, and Contracting Ltd., the owner of Al-Noor City residential project, represented by its owner and General Manager Sheikh Ali Thabet Al-Jaradi.
The contract was signed on behalf of the University Board of Trustees by Eng. Ali Abdullah Al-Zubaidi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, who expressed his satisfaction with this step, which will contribute to the development of the university’s infrastructure, including its academic, research, and service facilities, thereby enhancing its academic performance within society.
For her part, Prof. Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kakki, President of the University, expressed her happiness with this achievement, which represents a new milestone in the university’s development and the establishment of a comprehensive university campus. The campus will include all faculties, educational, research, and service facilities, as well as a teaching hospital affiliated with the university, in addition to sports fields, green spaces, and multiple rest areas for faculty members and students, in accordance with approved local and international standards.
She emphasized that with the development of institutional infrastructure and academic foundations, the university will be able—God willing—to improve its outcomes and prepare graduates with strong academic and professional qualifications aligned with modern developments in all fields.
In a statement to the university media, Dr. Saleh Hassan Baoum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, stated that achieving this significant institutional milestone in a short period reflects the depth of the Board’s vision and mission in serving higher education. It also strengthens the university’s scientific and academic position and supports its stability in the field of higher education and scientific research.
He added that having a fully integrated campus with university-owned buildings will enable further development, expansion, and the launch of new programs in line with quality standards. This will help the university achieve leadership in higher education across academic, scientific, and research fields that effectively serve and enlighten society. He reaffirmed the commitment to continue implementing the Board’s strategic plan, vision, and objectives to further develop the university and its affiliated teaching hospital, noting that construction work and site preparation for faculties, the teaching hospital, and all university facilities will begin soon.
The signing ceremony was attended on the university side by Dr. Salem Aboud Ghanem, Vice President of the University; Mr. Yahya Fouad Al-Yamani, Acting Secretary-General; and Lawyer Wahhab Ghazi Mohammed, Director of Legal Affairs. Representing the company were Lawyer Hani Ahmed Hael, company legal counsel, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Sumaiti, Financial Affairs Manager.
It is worth noting that Al-Riyada University was established in 2018 and includes the following specializations: Human Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratories, Information Technology, Business Administration, and Accounting.
