In a step aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice, the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Al-Reyada University, organized a scientific field visit to the Yemen Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control Organization (YSMO). The visit included 40 male and female students from the third and fourth levels.

Under the supervision of Dr. Khalda Khalid Abdul Latif Al-Ban, Head of the Business Administration Department, and accompanied by Dr. Ikhlas Magharef, instructor of the Total Quality Management (TQM) course, the visit aimed to introduce students to the practical applications of quality standards, commodity control mechanisms, and the foundations of food safety.

A Warm Reception and Strategic Cooperation

The delegation was warmly received by Eng. Hadid Muthanna Al-Maas, the Executive Director General of YSMO, who expressed his pleasure in cooperating with academic institutions. He emphasized that such communication is vital for building a generation conscious of quality requirements and standards.

The reception was attended by several key YSMO officials, including:

  • Ms. Muna Jamal Al-Haddad – Director of Training and Qualification.

  • Mr. Qassim Saleh Abdul Rahman – Director of Quality Management.

  • Mr. Hezam Ahmed Al-Jamal – Director of Laboratories.

  • Mr. Jamal Abdo Omar – Director of Metrology and Manufactured Goods.

The Scientific Program

The visit included two comprehensive lectures:

  1. An introduction to the organization’s national role in consumer protection and economic advancement.

  2. A specialized session on regulatory procedures and testing protocols for both imported and local products.

The program concluded with a field tour of the various laboratories, where students observed firsthand how examinations are conducted according to the latest international standards and systems.

Leadership Statements: The Value of Applied Learning

Prof. Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki, President of Al-Reyada University, affirmed:

"These field visits are a cornerstone of the university's strategy for applied education. They transform our students from mere recipients of knowledge into active partners in national development. We thank the college deanship and YSMO for this fruitful cooperation."

Dr. Salem Ghanem, Vice President of the University, added:

"Field visits serve as a living laboratory to test management theories and acquire the skills demanded by the labor market."

Dr. Mohammed Al-Talbi, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, noted:

"Providing our students with an opportunity at a leading national institution like YSMO is invaluable for refining their professional character."

Dr. Khalda Khalid Al-Ban, Head of the Business Administration Department, concluded:
