Holding of a Workshop at Al-Riyada University
Under the theme “Continuous Development to Ensure Quality in Distance Education,” and under the patronage of Dr. Saleh Hassan Baoum, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, and the sponsorship and supervision of Professor Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki, President of the University, Al-Riyada University launched today, Sunday, 18 May 2025, a workshop entitled: “Developing a Strategy and Describing Academic Programs for the College of Distance Education.”
The sessions of the first day of the workshop were dedicated to preparing a comprehensive strategy for the College and its current academic programs, which include: Accounting, Business Administration, Sharia and Law, English Language, and Islamic Studies. On the second day of the workshop, Monday, 19 May 2025, work will focus on describing the academic programs of the College of Distance Education according to the templates approved by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council, with the aim of improving the quality of education and keeping pace with modern developments in the field of distance education.
The workshop was attended by twenty-six academics, including experts and specialists in programs related to distance education.
It is worth noting that these workshops come within the framework of the University’s continuous efforts to achieve quality in university education and keep pace with modern developments in the field of distance education, reflecting the University’s commitment to quality assurance and academic excellence.
In a statement, Dr. Saleh Hassan Baoum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, affirmed that the Board is making diligent efforts to enhance the quality of distance education and meet the required standards to ensure the excellence of the University’s students.
Professor Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki, President of the University, indicated that this workshop represents a fundamental step toward developing innovative educational strategies that meet the needs of distance education and align with the requirements of society and the labor market.
Meanwhile, Dr. Salem Ghanem, Vice President of the University, emphasized the University’s commitment to supporting initiatives that advance distance education and ensure its quality and effectiveness, positively reflecting on educational outcomes.
For his part, Dr. Nour Al-Din Al-Aidroos, Director of the Quality Assurance and Development Center, explained that the workshop constitutes an integrated scientific framework to enhance quality standards and academic accreditation in the College’s programs.
In turn, Dr. Ahmed Yassin, Dean of the College of Distance Education, confirmed that the workshop aims to build advanced academic programs that contribute to graduating qualified cadres capable of competing in the labor market.
